SAILING SUNDAY: DEL PARDO’S GRAND SOLEIL 46 LC

The Italian shipyard re-evaluates their strategy with their newest model

The new Grand Soleil 46 LC has been making waves over the past few days, and we’re jumping on board. After being purchased by the Italian group Trevi, the Del Pardo shipyard had to reconsider their image. Traditionally, the yard was known for cruising-racing sailboats, but Trevi’s brand Sly already fills that space with their sporty, modern vessels.

The first of the shipyard’s new Long Cruise line, the Grand Soleil 46 LC officially represents a new beginning. And a long deckhouse and larger windows indicates a definitive turn towards pure cruising with the GS 46. Italian design firm Nauta Design also worked on the model, showing a new investment in pure style.

Del Pardo will continue to develop their cruising-racing sailboats with the Grand Soleil Performance line, but we are excited to see the first of this new line on display at the Cannes Boat Show in September.
