Ergonomic suspension seating

Germany’s marine seating expert, Grammer Nautic, will have its full range of dedicated commercial workboat seating on display at this year’s Seawork International.

One of the star products is the Grammer Nautic Avento Pro Air, a pneumatic air suspension seat with adjustable shock absorber and dampers. Its Pro Air shock mitigation system incorporates an isolator to reduce the effects of horizontal motion.

The popular Avento Pro M meanwhile is a mechanical suspension seat. Both seats have type approval to DNV-GL Code of Safety for High-Speed Craft, 2000 - Annex 10.

The Avento Pro Air suspension seat includes 210mm longitudinal adjustment to enable the seat to be positioned fore and aft. Pneumatic height adjustment of 80mm allows for different height operators or workstation positions. Pneumatic weight adjustment automatically adjusts the Pro Air seat for occupant weights ranging from 50 to 130kg.

On both seats, the high backrest fitted with ergonomically moulded cushions, is adjustable from -10° up to +70°. It can be reclined backwards in small steps to provide resting positions, or folded all the way forward onto the seat cushion. The lumbar support is manually adjustable and the headrest is easily adjusted to suit different sizes of operator.

Grammer has been building seats for all modes of transport for over 50 years. Typical marine applications include wind farm service vessels, pilot boats, workboats and offshore support vessels.
