Looking back at Jörg Beiderbeck’s life through Frank Neaubelt

SuperYachtTimes.com is saddened to report on the passing of German superyacht designer Jörg Beiderbeck. His death came after a long illness, at the age of 69 years. Beiderbeck is survived by his longtime girlfriend, his son and daughter.

Jörg Beiderbeck was born on 6 October 1946 in Kiel, Germany. In 1989 he started a career at Lürssen, and would design yachts for the next ten years for the Bremen based shipyard. He received acclaim with his recent award-winning designs such as the BD80 Bliss and Swann’s 105 RS Ti Coyo. The Biederbeck designs GmbH lives on through company partners Immo Lüdeling, Tim Ulrich and Marcus Lowinski.

Colleague and good friend of Jörg, Frank Neubelt remembers Beiderbeck, “We will miss him. His outstanding yachts will keep his creativity alive. For me he was more than a colleague; I see him as one of the most famous entrepeneurs of finest innovative German-built superyachts. 15 years ago we founded, together with colleagues and friends, "Deutsche Yachten", where his enthusiasm and his great open-mind creativity underlined all our activities. A very grand senior has left us. Chapeau Jörg!”
