Royal Yacht Squadron regatta fast approaching

Yachts are still entering their names into the Royal Yacht Squadron’s Bicentenary International Regatta, where super sailing yachts and composite racers will be gathering at the start line on the 27th July in Cowes for five days of professional racing.

Three J-class yachts have confirmed their attendance, with Valsheda, Ranger and Lionheart once again meeting to see who’s top of the J’s. Class Zero racer yachts will follow close on their heels after the gun has sounded, with the likes of Bella Mente, Leopard and Rambler sure to put up a show for the hardcore racing fans ashore. A special Race Around the Island will occur on Wednesday 29th July where competitors will sail clockwise around the island, which could possibly substituted with a long offshore race if weather conditions demands it.

North Sails will also be attending, with a panel discussion hosted by Ken Read featuring Sir Ben Ainslie. Sam Davies and Jimmy Spithill. Entry is free and open to all competitors.
