Perini Navi Cup kicks off today

A total of 16 Perini Navi sailing yachts will be on the water today to take part in the 6th edition of the prestigious regatta. The Cup will see 7 of the vessels battle it out for line honours over the three days of racing, with the 9 remaining yachts in the fleet shadowing the event as they make their way around the course, set out by the race comittee.

The event is well-known to blend the action packed on-water activities with elegant and tasteful social evening events, and the opening night was no exception. The gala night saw members of the Perini Navi shipyard, Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and race crew enjoy themselves ahead of the first day of racing with a special appearance by America’s Cup sailing legend Russel Coutts, promoting the famed multihull racing event, to take place around the Caribbean island of Bermuda in mid 2016.
