Symmetry: Sinot’s ‘bi-directional’ superyacht concept
This flexible 180-metre superyacht has been designed from the centre out.
Symmetry and balance are useful qualities for a yacht designer to keep in mind, but what happens when it is more than just a guideline and becomes the organising principle behind a yacht? Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design has created Project Symmetry in just this way. “The yacht’s layout is created by symmetrically building up from the centre, instead of using a traditional linear set-up. Functions on the decks are organised around a central void. The symmetrical shape of the hull allows for bi-directional cruising at sea,” says Sander Sinot.
Six decks – each of which has a specific function and character – plus a beam of 29 metres create huge interior volumes with room for 34 guests and 48 crew. Features include a beach deck with a a sea-water pool and float-in tender bay; a guest deck with a glass-bottomed pool amidships, a hotel deck with garden, spas and gym, and an owner’s deck with private spa, office, library, sky lounge, and an exterior deck with an infinity water feature.
