Partnership boosts green awareness
The Searial Cleaners, a new brand of green clean technologies from Poralu Marine, has signed a partnership with the Blue Flag programme to help combat pollution on beaches and in harbours.
The two players are combining their strengths to raise awareness, with a view to equipping 30 new Blue Flag/Searial Cleaners sites by the end of this year.
Launched in June 2021, Searial Cleaners now has four new technologies to reduce marine and coastal pollution. The brand relies on the group’s international network (8,000 locations throughout the world) to provide a comprehensive solution to local authorities and businesses that want to incorporate environmental issues into their development policies for land and marine spaces.
Each year, the Blue Flag, a symbol of exceptional environmental quality, rewards and promotes the municipalities and marinas that implement an ongoing sustainable tourism development policy. Present in over 5,000 sites in 48 countries, the award has become a global reference in the tourism, environment and sustainable development sectors. A guarantor of high environmental quality, the Blue Flag, hoisted over a beach or marina, spreads a positive, dynamic image among residents and visitors. In this way, it also promotes general awareness to foster behaviour that is more respectful of nature.
Poralu’s Searial Cleaners range has been developed to fill industry shortfalls. After reviewing the products already on the market, the company found that existing waste collection systems were not very well known and that these systems focused on a single process for a single environment.
The Searial range (in order of launch) currently comprises:
• The BeBot electric beach cleaning robot, capable of picking up small waste from 1cm/0.4in in size without harming the sandy shoreline (fauna, flora, turtle eggs etc)
• PixieDrone, a floating drone that collects waste and data. It runs on a six hour charge and can collect up to 160 litres/35 gal per mission.
• Collect’Thor, a pontoon-mounted waste collector with capacity for up to 100kg/220lbs of waste and ability to catch tiny microplastics.
• InvisiBubble, a bubble barrier that purifies the water, diverts waste, confines hydrocarbons and protects wildlife.
