Need to achieve a tight deadline for your refit project?

No problem, we’ll give you that extra help you need…

We continue to support a market leader in global towage who had just this problem. Following previous successes on other vessels, they approached us with a specific fire fighting vessel, that was docked at Teesport, in need of retractable solar screens. The fire fighting tug vessel was built in 2005 and had a very short window of time for refurbishment and maintenance.

Situated approximately 50 miles from the Solarglide HQ, Teesport is the UK’s northern gateway for global shippers; serving worldwide markets including Scandinavia, the Baltics, the Netherlands, Russia, Belgium, France and Poland.

What we did to help…

Initial Survey

We visited the vessel to conduct a comprehensive survey which allowed us to ensure all window measurements were accurate and there were no surprises.

Quotation

Based on these measurements, we prepared the Client a quotation within 48 hours. The quotation detailed the SG Glider Solar screen specification and mechanism suitable for the dimensions.

Manufacture

The order was manufactured within five working days, not bad during a pandemic lockdown.

Installation

Our fully-accredited expert installation team attended the vessel to ensure the job was completed on time, with minimum disruption.

After Care

As standard, we offer a 7 year warranty on our SG Glider Solar Screens.

The Result

The vessel was able to navigate to its next destination, on time and with improved navigational visibility. Our team are proud to have collaborated with the Client, predominantly working remotely, to achieve such a tight deadline.

As we only exclusively deal with the maritime industry, it is second nature to us to meet such timescales. We’re not distracted with domestic clients and fully understand the vessels we fit out.
