Tiara Yachts Debuts Q 44 Adventure Yacht
Tiara Yachts debuted the new Q 44 to an audience of domestic and international factory authorized dealers during its annual conference commemorating 2015 model year achievements and introducing 2016 business plans for Tiara Yachts.
The Q 44 is the brainchild of legendary boat builder Leon Slikkers and comes to life after more than 3 years of development built on Leon’s almost 70 years of boat building experience! Tiara’s design and engineering team delivered the vessel under the guidance of Leon Slikkers through a process of forums and feedback on each critical element that included full scale mockups, detailed computer aided design and Leon’s robust knowledge of boat building.
“Our company has a unique advantage in product design when you factor in the practical experience our chairman, my father, brings to product development. Our design process, coupled with real world experience, is delivering groundbreaking new products like the Q 44 which defines an entirely new market segment,” Tom Slikkers, CEO and President, S2 Yachts.
Like the successful Coupe series introduced by Tiara over the past two years, the Q 44 takes outdoor/indoor living to a whole new level. The Q 44 is a luxury SUV for the water, a unique blend of social zones built around a single level deck with full walk around and walk through capabilities. The bow, bridgedeck, companion seating and aft cockpit to teak beach all combine to deliver entertainment zones offering family and friends private areas to enjoy day-yachting as they wish. The Q 44 appeals to all ages, from a use and safety standpoint. The captain has unimpeded visibility forward and aft so they may keep a keen eye on grandchildren or friends out for a day on your favorite stretch of coastline.
“Studying the market over several years Tiara recognized a trend that saw many manufacturers try to adapt certain styles of yachts to the new kind of yachting our modern customer enjoys. Instead of adapting we took a different approach and purposefully built a boat most suited for today’s demands.” George Hetzel, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, S2 Yachts.
The interior space is smaller, but not without luxury only minimized to accommodate a couple overnight down below. The helm features the glass cockpit feature pioneered by Garmin Marine and Volvo Penta in collaboration with Tiara Yachts. Joystick driving and docking are standard features. Cummins power is optional.
A cellar located to the port side of the bridge deck can hold an enormous amount of gear and support the adventure side of the yachts purpose. Compliment the cellar with the ability to load the hardtop up with SUPs, kayaks, bicycles and surfboards and you’ll find that your everyday cruise can now include multiple activities commonplace in an ever active marine environment.
The aft facing sectional compliments the island galley and rear convertible seating. Port and starboard walkways put you on the teak beach and off to your favorite water play activities. A future fishing optional cockpit swaps the island galley for a combination transom rear bench seat complete with fishing and entertaining functionality built in.
The new Tiara Q 44 delivers a fusion of luxury cruising and adventure that defines an entirely new segment of day-yachting. Learn more at www.tiarayachts.com and enjoy the latest Q44 video at https://vimeo.com/136415618.
