The first of 6 electrically-propelled water taxis

In Rotterdam, the first of 6 electrically-propelled water taxis, which can carry up to 40 people, was launched on 9 April 2021. Taxis will be responsible for all passenger transport by water in Rotterdam and Schiedam, the Netherlands, on behalf of the City of Rotterdam. They are designed and built by ALUMAX in collaboration with WATERTAXI Rotterdam.

ALUMAX, a renowned boat builder and designer, specializing in aluminum boat building, has been convinced of the quality of BELLMARINE engines for many years, Remko Germeraad of ALUMAX states: “BELLMARINE has fulfilled the whole package of requirements and also providing all the necessary certificates. ”And he adds:“ The system is of evident quality, easy to install and use ”.

With the transition to a completely emission-free water taxi fleet by 2030, the electric taxis, equipped with 2 electric motors DriveMasters 20W, will meet the environmental goals set by the City of Rotterdam, the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Area.
