TRELLEBORG LAUNCHES PORT PERFORMANCE ROUNDTABLE

The film, which is split into three chapters for easy viewing, focuses on how to improve port performance after years of under investment, the need to regulate the market to guarantee the quality of port equipment, and how greater cooperation can practically achieve efficiencies throughout the supply chain and the industry as a whole.

Richard Hepworth, President of Trelleborg''s marine operation, says: “The Barometer Report has given us some really interesting insights into the state of play in our industry today. However, this year we wanted to get some more in depth insights, and our presence at the PIANC World Congress gave us the opportunity to do just that, having so many key stakeholders and influencers in one place.

“We received some extremely valuable feedback at the roundtable, covering three key issues in the main: how the industry is evolving in light of increasing levels of investment predicted by the Barometer Report, whether facilities around the world are using the right technologies for their specific applications and how, through a more integrated and educated supply chain, we can drive standards up going forward.”

The hour long roundtable has been condensed into the key highlights, and split into three chapters: “An Evolving Industry”, “Using the Right Technology” and “An Educated Supply Chain”. To find out which aspects of port development are the most in need and how the supply chain can evolve to help ports develop safely and responsibly, watch the Port Performance Roundtable now.

The roundtable discussions were based on the findings of Trelleborg''s Barometer Report survey, which calls on the views of hundreds of port owners, operators, engineering consultants and contractors, seeking to understand the challenges they are facing and what they think the future holds for the marine industry.
