Remote-controlled lifebuoy is a Portuguese invention and unique in the world
It's called Usafe and it was used for the first time this Wednesday, in the Algarve.
A remotely controlled rescue equipment, which was invented, developed and manufactured entirely in Portugal, this Wednesday presented in our country, for the first time, in Praia da Rocha, in Portimão. It is a remote-controlled lifebuoy, which promises to revolutionize rescue at sea.
It is called Usafe and was used for the first time this Wednesday, in the Algarve, where a concessionaire decided to acquire this equipment to reinforce the means of rescue at sea. CMTV accompanied the demonstration of a rescue with this equipment.
The use of the buoy, which will be operated by lifeguards, is simple, in such a way that a 9-year-old child managed to make a rescue.
This equipment was invented, developed and manufactured entirely in Portugal and is already in use in several navies and coast guards around the world.
The equipment is valid, in Portugal, by the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos and is unique in the world. Soon, one of these means of rescue will be offered to the Life Saving Station in Ferragudo, to reinforce safety at sea.
