There is a choice of engines for the J-34. A Yanmar 8LV 370 (370pk) ZT370 stern drive is fitted as standard, but there is also an option for the Yanmar twin, 2 engines with a 370pk stern drive. Or you can opt for the double Volvo Penta IPS 350 diesel engines. Twin engine steering can be done either traditionally using the helm or by using a joystick, which makes docking very precise and simple.

The underwater body is aluminium and the boat has aluminium hull and deck frames. Above the waterline, the hull and superstructure are mahogany and bonded with epoxy. The cockpit is finished in mahogany and has teak decking, and all the wood is finished in 10 layers of double-component clear varnish. Upholstery is in consultation.
