New Wise Boat Hoist installed at Suffolk Yacht Harbour
Founded in 1967 on the banks of the river Orwell, Suffolk Yacht Harbour has continually strived to offer excellent services and provide for the needs of its customers.
To further compliment and improve the services of the harbour, a new W75 Boat Hoist was commissioned from Wise Handling Limited to work alongside their existing 60 Tonne Wise machine (originally built in 1979 for A.H. Moody & Son who sold the machine after purchasing a second Wise hoist in 1995).
Through continual re-investment, expansions and new service & facilities, this independently run business has flourished, with the harbour currently operating at 100% capacity.
With the installation of the new hoist, the harbour has not only increased its lifting capacity, its lifting operations are quicker, safer and more economical. The new Wise hoist will play a significant part in the harbours future.
As well as the boat lifting facilities, Suffolk Yacht Harbour is fully equipped with a 550 berthing marina and full repair & maintenance facilities ranging from traditional to modern boats and techniques.
A complete range of boat building services including rigging, sail making, marine engineering, stainless steel manufacturing, yacht surveying and yacht broker, together with the sailing school, yacht club and recreational facilities enhance the Suffolk Yacht Harbour portfolio.
The new hoist is equipped with two-speed transmission, two-speed winching, full wireless remote control and foam filled tires. The wireless control greatly increases safety and efficiency by allowing the operator to control the hoist from the optimum viewing position.
The Wise Hoist is now fully commissioned and operational and is a welcome addition to the services offered by Suffolk Yacht Harbour.
