NEW FOR 2025: THE OVNI 490

OVNI 490: A new OVNI with a pilot house!

Designed by the ALUBAT shipyard in collaboration with the Mortain-Mavrikios design offices (Alain MORTAIN & Yiannis MAVRIKIOS) and CBA (Jean-Pierre BROUNS, Alain BECHETOILLE, and Nina KARLSEDER), the OVNI 490 expands the range of "new generation" OVNI. It meets the high demand for a 50-foot OVNI with an integrated pilot house and will be presented at the Grand Pavois 2025.

The first unit of this 100% aluminum, centerboard, 15.95 meter long and 4.80 meter wide sailing yacht is also the fourth OVNI for its owner.

Five other OVNI 490 are already on order.

What appealed to these owners?

• A pilot house allowing 2 to 3 people to stand watch.

• A panoramic roof and a raised saloon offering a stunning view of the outside, even when seated.

• A simple and efficient deck layout with a well-protected and spacious cockpit, featuring two helm stations at the rear.

• A twin-engine setup (two 50HP Volvo shaft-drive engines as standard).

• A manual system for lifting and lowering the keel, operated by a winch in the cockpit.

• A modern, practical, and welcoming galley.

• A beautiful forward owner's cabin with a port side offset berth, plenty of storage, and a large en-suite head with a separate shower.

• Two aft cabins, one with a berth convertible into a double bed and a bunk bed.

• A head with a separate shower on the starboard side.

• A passageway on the port side allowing space for a washing machine, a freezer, and a foul weather locker.

• A technical locker under the cockpit with spacious storage accessible from both the cockpit and interior.

• Access to the sail locker via a watertight door from inside, also accessible from the deck.

• A large transom with storage lockers, structured by a watertight bulkhead.

• Two fuel tanks with a total capacity of 1000L and two water tanks with a total capacity of 600L.

This first OVNI 490 is equipped with a BellMarine electric propulsion system (two 20W EVO shaft-drive motors), a lithium battery bank of over 50 kW at 48V, over 1,600 W of solar panels, and a 22 kW generator at 48V.

This configuration offers the following advantages:

• Significant electrical autonomy.

• Silent and environmentally friendly propulsion.

• Regeneration under sail.

• No need for LPG gas on board (galley with an electric oven and induction cooktops).

• Optimized navigation in light winds using motor sailing.

The OVNI 490 combines performance, robustness and comfort, making her ideal for sailing enthusiasts seeking offshore adventures.

You can discover this exceptional yacht by appointment at the shipyard in Les Sables d’Olonne (France) in June/July, and then at the Grand Pavois 2025 (La Rochelle Boat Show in France).
