Printed decorative design on doors
Personalized marine door decorations – printed!
Finnish marine doors manufacturer Antti Marine introduces a new way to decorate cruise and ferry doors: printing the design directly on the door.
In the marine industry, printed doors are something completely new, which no one else yet offers. Usually the design is applied to the door leaf using plastic foil, paint or laminate, which doesn’t offer the possibility to create personalized designs.
Embossing of the door leaf offers possibilities to create more personalized designs, but ultimately only printing gives the freedom to create any kind of look on the doors: graphics, ornaments or even real photos or images. In door design, printing is the most flexible way to decorate, and the only design limitations are those imposed by the designer’s imagination.
The material of the printed door leaf may be either pvc coated or painted steel. The design is printed on the surface material before it is processed, for example on pvc steel sheet. After printing the design on the steel sheet, the sheet is processed into the desired size and shape, while making sure that the print is correctly positioned.
Printed doors bring added value and comfort to the passengers’ cruise experience. In addition, they may also serve a purpose as guiding elements, for example in deck orientation, when each deck has a unique design on the doors.
The decorative door prints supplied by Antti Marine have MED and USCG approvals. They have also been UV radiation and friction tested, the results of which showed them to be no less vulnerable than traditional doors. In addition, producing the printed doors is not essentially more expensive. Printing also allows for the production even in small quantities.
The first of Antti Marine´s personalized cruise doors were supplied TUI Cruises’s MeinSchiff3, where ornamental decorations were printed on both suite and stateroom doors.
