HyproDrive pumps go sub-marine!

The vessel operated for a few years before being decommissioned and left in a ''boneyard'', where it remained until recently.

In 2012 Plymouth (UK) based company MSubs performed a rapid refit of the vessel, replacing the entire electrical system and restoring the hull and exterior systems in a 3 month period. Once complete, MUST underwent sea trials from Plymouth Sound, followed by her first commercial operation.

MUST is now used as a low-cost sonar training target, hydro graphic survey platform and test bed for underwater equipment.

MSubs have recently upgraded MUST by stretching the length of the hull, and adding new hydraulic functions using HyproDrive reversing hydraulic drives with relief valves.

New ultra low power corrosion resistant reversing pump

We are very pleased to introduce the new PR+08, 0.8 L/min reversing pump to the Hy-ProDrive range. This high performance, ultra quiet, gear pump boasts a 12V 50W motor and is suitable for smaller steering cylinders and stern drive applications. Suitable for cylinders of 75 cc to 250 cc the new pump is ideal for the smaller craft, where power consumption and noise is an issue. The unit draws only 1.3 amps at 25% duty and a maximum of 14 amps at full power, producing pressures of between 5 and 55 bar.

Like all the pumps in the Hy-ProDrive range, the PR+08 is IP67 rated and corrosion protected for marine environments, where water ingress and corrosion from salt is a very real risk.
