J/45 cruising test with Benjamin Dutreux

Benjamin Dutreux gives his opinion on the J/45 after a week of cruising with friends.

In our perpetual search for excellence at all levels, in 2021 we proposed to the famous skipper Benjamin Dutreux to cruise with friends on the J/45. In all transparency, he tells us his experience on our latest boat, especially in terms of performance and quality of life on board.

This local skipper, based in Sables d’Olonne, Benjamin Dutreux has shared same values as the yard for many years. Finishing in 9th place in the Vendée Globe 2021, Benjamin stood out during the race for his ability to compete with the best, with one of the oldest boats in the fleet, without foil! He was the revelation of VG 2021.

Through his technical approach, preferring simplicity, reliability and performance, Benjamin’s values are perfectly in line with those of the yard. This is how we wanted to benefit from his technical expertise and feedback to test the new 45.

We were thus able to offer Benjamin the opportunity to spend 1 week aboard the new J/45, cruising the Atlantic coast. His feedback and technical expertise confirm us our choices in the development of the boat, combining comfort at sea, performance and easing maneuvering for a double-handed.
