First orders in for new Sunreef 80 luxury catamarans
John Deere Power Systems and Sunreef Yachts in Gdansk, Poland, have combined their strengths to offer an unbeatable cruising experience.
The presentation of a Sunreef 80 7X Split sailing catamaran with twin John Deere 6.8L PowerTechTM engines at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2018 immediately lead to multiple orders for customized Sunreef 80 sailing and power catamarans.

John Deere engines have become the shipyard’s preferred engine option. Sunreef uses John Deere 4.5L and 6.8L engines across its range of 60, 70 and now 80 ranges. Late 2019, the company will be launching a new model, the 80 Sunreef Power, with twin John Deere 13.5L engines.
Ideal for family sailing or charters
The customized 80 7X Split showcased at Cannes was designed with freedom, flexibility and lifestyle in mind. The 24.4-meter (80-foot) long yacht with 11.5-meter (37.8-foot) beam offers 340 square meters (1,115 square feet) of open-space living area. A family-friendly layout with ample privacy for eight guests plus a well-equipped galley makes it suitable for private use and charters.
Two John Deere 208-kW (280-hp) PowerTechTM 6068SFM85 engines work with two bow thrusters for effortless port entry, exit and docking. The engines can also be engaged alone for quick trips. “John Deere engines build power faster and cruise at a higher speed with a lower rpm, less noise and greater fuel efficiency,” comments Francis Lapp, founder and owner of Sunreef Yachts. “They ensure our customized, luxury vessels offer stress-free cruising in any weather condition.”
