1）Tugs and harbour craft: frequent hard-over manoeuvres; priority should be given to the gear-coupled potentiometer solution for its signal stability and impact resistance.
2）Offshore vessels and wind farm service vessels: prolonged DP operations; an analog potentiometer lever combined with a signal conversion module may be selected. If budget allows, encoder or Hall sensor solutions can be considered.
3）Inland electric vessels: lower voltage platform and simpler electromagnetic environment; analog potentiometer output is easy to match with electric propulsion controllers, offering a clear cost advantage.
