PVL promptly removed the sheet pile walls at Brunsbüttel Sea Lock

A five-month project

During this project, the PVL underwater cutting torch was used to remove the head gates of the new sea lock in Brunsbüttel. These gates had originally been installed to facilitate the construction of the lock.

The cutting work takes place at a depth of approximately 20 meters underwater, and divers spend about five months carefully cutting away the steel gates. Once this will be completed, the new lock doors can be installed. After that, the lock can be put into operation, allowing shipping traffic to pass through freely again.
