A Landmark Day for Rapido Trimarans
Rapido 53XS wins ARC Rally 2025 while Rapido launches its new Rapido 40 Racer
On 4 December 2025, Rapido Trimarans celebrated a defining moment in its history — one that perfectly captures the brand’s DNA of performance, innovation and ocean-proven reliability.
First, the trimaran Picomole (a Rapido 53XS) claimed Line Honours in the Multihull Division of the 2025 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), completing the 2,881 NM trans-Atlantic race from the Canary Islands to St. Lucia in just 10 days and 18 hours. Picomole’s finish marks another milestone: over 30,000 NM sailed since launch — proof of its outstanding offshore capabilities and endurance.
At the same time, Rapido unveiled its newest model, the Rapido 40 Racer — a purpose-built, ultra-light (4.5 tonne) performance trimaran featuring a 19.5 m carbon rig (2.3m higher than on the performance cruising model). Where Picomole showcases ocean-cruising pedigree, the Rapido 40 Racer demonstrates pure racing ambition — yet both share the same advanced composite construction, engineering excellence and multihull heritage.
This dual announcement — Picomole’s ARC triumph and the launch of the Rapido 40 Racer — underlines Rapido’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what modern trimarans can achieve, whether for long-distance cruisers or high-performance racers.
