Sormec Subsea AHC Crane M1600/2S
Sormec provide lifting options – systems like AHC (Active Heave Compensation) for subsea handling. Subsea cranes are constantly adapting to wave motions and increases precision and load stability for a precise lowering of the loads under the waves.
The crane in the video was delivered to BP Azerbaijan to be installed on a DSV. Crane with double class certification DNV+RMRS has the main winch with AHC, MOPS, AOPS of 50t with 650 meters of rope and the auxiliary winch with Man-Riding, MOPS of 10t and 350 meters of rope plus the additional 5t tugger winch. The Crane will be able to compensate +/- 2 meters (4 meters total displacement) at a peak speed of maximum 80 m/min.
The unique design of the crane is that the stiff part stops at 15 meters and can lift 50t and the side telescopic part has two extensions up to 25 meters and the SWL is 10t.
With this video we would like to thank to all the people involved in the project: our team managed to fulfill its tasks successfully and pushed Sormec to another level.
