Historical new project has been completed: the technological masterpiece M4500/EL

the most challenging project we have faced so far. We learned a lot, we have tested ourselves even more, we have struggled but we have succeeded. Now with the new experience made we are ready to climb higher steps and knock at bigger doors.

Once again our team has done all of us proud, officially inaugurating a technological masterpiece, the offshore elbow crane M4500/EL. Our last major project is an offshore crane with an offset winch made of 50 tons of rated capacity which will be installed in the next months on a BP ship SCV (Subsea construction vessel) Khankendi stationed in Baku. The elbow-knuckle boom M4500/EL crane is able to support operation up to 600 meters deep and equipped with the Sormec Active heave compensation technology.

The AHC crane will be able to lift 50 tones at 25 meters outreach and 600 meters below sea level. Design is following the DNV Lifting Appliance 2.22, EN 13852-1 and FEM. Crane will come complete with full safety systems AOPS,MOPS, AHC, CT and also Man-Riding approved for emergency diving bell recovery. AHC system will compensate 4 meters (+/-2 m) on a heave period of 10 seconds. The heart of the plant is a drive and control system of the main winch driven by 5 hydraulic motors controlled electronically.

This project represents the highest professional understanding, the last frontier of the company’s evolution in terms of construction capabilities and design. In a contest such as the offshore, where stability is fundamental to safely and optimally manage the loads to be handled on board of vessels, this project has been of great importance to develop solutions that could guarantee the high requirements of the sector.
